Objective – To keep customers in a “holiday glow” whilst the booking is made and then celebrate the booking, ending the transaction on a high.
My role – I led the Holiday Design Store (HDS) project from inception, strategy and business case, to design, technological development, training, delivery and promotion; engaging people around the business to help deliver the end result, but with only one IT project manager fully assigned to the job.
Note: I worked with 2020 to design the concept and Omnifi who developed the required software.
Solution – Projection walls play generic holiday content when not in use, showcasing inspirational images (labelled so customers know what they are looking at). This content helps promote a holiday atmosphere in store, but the real magic happens when customers are ready to book. Personalised images of their holiday are projected onto the wall, so they can remember what they are booking whilst the agent sorts out the details and when the booking is made a tailored message is displayed to celebrate their booking.
Outcome – The projection walls immerse customers in their holiday whilst the booking is made, it celebrates their booking (the most “selfied” moment in store) and it inspires other customers in the store too!
