Objective – the atrium is the heart of the ship, going over 5 decks with balconies allowing customers to watch and hear what is going on below. Amongst other things it incorporates Reception, Destination Services and is a classy venue for drinks and entertainment. The objective was to pair back the design to allow be more in keeping with the rest of the ship.
My role – to oversee concept development (both creatively and commercially), ensuring feasibility within budget and work with Mivan construction on implementing the concept and Apollo catering to develop menus and operations to deliver the concept.
Solution – The Atrium bar was themed in a Las Vegas style, so the principle for the design we worked on was to focus on finishes to minimise cost and pair back the theme to provide a fresh and contemporary design to work across all atrium decks.
Outcome – The Atrium remains the heart of the ship and customers love pre and post-dinner drinks in this Prosecco themed bar with appropriate entertainment such as ballroom dancing and live saxophonist allowing customers to relax and enjoy.
